Promoting the reform of criminal justice in Ukraine is one of the key activities of the Institute, as the rights of individuals during criminal proceedings and the implementation of criminal coercion are components of the right to trial and the presumption of innocence.
The Institute carries out its activities aimed at researching the Promotion of Criminal Justice Reform in the following aspects:
- analysis of legislation in the field of criminal justice;
- application by the courts of Ukraine of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and the practice of the ECtHR;
- monitoring of court proceedings;
- other aspects of criminal justice reform.
